The Problem
Is Your Window Handle or Lock Letting You Down?
Window hardware fails more often than people realise — and it's not just an inconvenience. A window that won't lock properly is a security risk, and one that won't open fully is a ventilation and fire safety issue.
The good news is most handle and lock problems are straightforward to fix. We carry the most common parts in the van and can often repair on the first visit without needing to order anything in.
What We Fix
Common Handle & Lock Problems We Fix
Broken or Loose Window Handle
The most common call we get. Handles crack, snap or work loose over time. We replace like for like — matching colour and style to your existing windows.
Window Won't Lock
Usually a failed gearbox inside the multipoint locking mechanism or a misaligned shoot bolt. We diagnose which and fix accordingly.
Stiff or Seized Handle
Often just needs lubrication and adjustment — sometimes the gearbox needs replacing. We'll tell you which on the spot.
Failed Euro Cylinder
The key barrel inside your window lock. We replace with anti-snap TS007 rated cylinders as standard — a small upgrade that significantly improves security.
Multipoint Lock Mechanism
The shoot bolt strip running up and down the edge of the sash. When the gearbox fails the whole mechanism stops working. We source and fit replacement gearboxes and full mechanisms.
Trickle Vent Issues
Broken, blocked or stuck trickle vents affect ventilation. Simple replacements carried out alongside any other hardware work.
The Process
How It Works
Send Us a Photo
WhatsApp us a photo of the handle or lock and describe the problem. We'll come back with an estimated price the same day and advise whether we're likely to fix on the first visit.
We Come and Assess
We visit, diagnose the exact fault and confirm the price. For common parts we'll often have what's needed in the van and fix there and then.
Fixed First Visit Where Possible
If we need to order a part we'll do so immediately and return as soon as it arrives — typically within a few days.
Guaranteed
All hardware we supply and fit comes with a 1 year guarantee. Glass units we fit carry a 10 year guarantee.

Security
A Word on Window Security
Anti-snap cylinders fitted as standard
When we replace euro cylinders we always fit anti-snap TS007 3-star rated cylinders as standard. Standard cylinders can be snapped in seconds — a technique commonly used by burglars. Anti-snap cylinders are specifically designed to resist this. It's a small additional cost that makes a significant difference to your home security.
Landlords & Agents
Landlords & Letting Agents
Failed window locks are a common maintenance issue across rental portfolios — and one that tenants report regularly. We work with landlords and letting agents across Sussex and Surrey to keep on top of hardware repairs quickly and efficiently.
We can assess and quote across multiple properties, batch repairs into single visit days and provide written condition reports where needed. Fast turnaround means fewer tenant complaints and less chasing for you.
